JVs beat Erie 47-6

On Saturday October 20 the Rambler JVs defeated the Erie High Royals by the score of 47-6. On a rain soaked evening Prep received the opening kickoff and were able to take advantage of solid field position with Paniro Johnson scoring his 1st of 3 touchdowns on the night. The Royals answered quickly, moving the ball right down field to tie the game up at 6 a piece after both teams missed their extra points. Johnson capped off the next Rambler drive with a short touchdown run and after the 2 point attempt failed the Ramblers lead 12-6. A team huddle ensued after the point extra and the Ramblers took off from there. The defense yielded very little after the 1st quarter and was able to turn the Royals over on their only other threat when Tamar Sample caused a fumble and the Ramblers recovered inside their 10 yard line. Sample was able to connect with Patrick Fortin on a 40 yard touchdown pass to put the Ramblers up 20-6 heading into the half. Johnson lead the Ramblers down on their first possession of the second half scoring his 3rd touchdown of the night. Erie then fumbled in their endzone after a sack pushed them back and Kyle Cox was able to dive on the loose ball for another 6. Tamar Sample hit Mo Troop on a 3rd and long and John Campbell was able to turn in one of his tough runs for a short touchdown. Prep improves to 4-4 and will conclude their season with a home game against Clarkson next Saturday at 1pm from Dollinger.
