On June 28th and June 29th the Cathedral Prep Varsity 7 on 7 squad competed in the Airo7v7 Pennsylvania State Championship tournament sponsored by Adidas. The tournament took place at Founders Field in Cheswick Pa. Participating teams included Cathedral Prep, Clearfield High School, Bishop Guilfoyle High School, Ringgold High School, Canon-McMillan Senior High School, Woodland Hills High School, Hickory High School, Trinity High School, Highlands High School, Fox Chapel Area High School, Frazier High School, and South Allegheny High School. After two days of pool play and playoffs the Ramblers found themselves representing Western PA in the Championship vs. the Simon Gratz Bulldogs. Unfortunately after a strong showing the Ramblers fell to the Bulldogs 18-15 becoming the PA state runner up. Prep had strong showings offensively from Junior Quarterback Joseph Mischler and Senior Wide Receiver Trey Deitrich. Defensively a pair of junior brothers Matt and Anthony Lupo contributed a pair of interceptions in the semi final, and championship game.
